Why Smart tutoring?

First of all, thank you for taking the time to visit SMART tutoring. Over twenty years ago, I took the leap into primary education. During this time I have had the pleasure of teaching in both state and preparatory schools, where I have undertaken a range of roles; including Head of English and Subject Coordinator in Science. I have a wealth of experience across the age ranges from reception to year 8 and I have had the opportunity to teach a large variety of subjects; with my recent years focusing particularly on Maths, English and Science, from year 3 to year 8. I believe passionately in developing pupils‘ self confidence and self esteem, whilst making learning as enjoyable as possible.

I started tutoring fifteen years ago and this has only enhanced my passion for teaching further. I always have the highest expectations of pupils that I teach; which I have found to pay rich dividends in terms of pupils’ academic and personal development. I am patient and enjoy helping others to learn; my pupils have fun while they study and are always proud of their progress.  My experience of working with children of all abilities has ensured I tailor all my programmes to each child’s individual needs and goals. 

As well as experience as a qualified primary school teacher in the classroom, I have had the opportunity to support pupils who are preparing for both independent and selective schools; via the 11+, 13+, ISEB and Common Entrance assessments. 

My aim is always to raise the achievements of my pupils beyond their own expectations, with challenging and rewarding lessons; and through my individual approach to each student, in turn continuing to build confidence.
